Every Rep Has a Coach Behind It

Hartwell House is Dallas's only gym where certified coaches are on the floor during every open session — not just during scheduled appointments.

Built for People Who Train with Purpose

Most gyms hand you a key card and wish you luck. Hartwell House works differently. When you walk through our doors on Maple Avenue, a coach is already there — watching movement, adjusting form, and keeping you accountable to the program we designed together at intake. Our 8,400-square-foot facility is equipped with Eleiko barbells, Rogue racks, concept2 rowers, and a turf lane, but the equipment is secondary. The reason members stay for years is the coaching culture: specific, direct, and built on measurable progress. Whether you're a competitive athlete maintaining a base or someone who hasn't trained seriously since college, your program at Hartwell House is written for your body and your schedule.

What Sets Hartwell House Apart

Four pillars that distinguish a coached gym from a commercial fitness center.

  • Coaches on the Floor

Every session — open gym or class — has at least one certified coach present. They're not behind a desk; they're watching your lifts, cuing your movement, and available the moment you need them. This is the core commitment of Hartwell House.

  • Written Programming

At intake, your coach writes a 12-week block tailored to your goals, history, and schedule. Programs are updated every quarter with a reassessment session included. You never walk in wondering what to do.

  • Serious Equipment

Eleiko competition barbells, Rogue Monster racks, Assault AirBikes, a 40-meter turf lane, and a dedicated stretching zone finished in warm sand-olive tones. The environment is purposeful, calm, and never overcrowded.

  • A Small, Invested Community

We cap total membership at 280 to maintain coaching quality and floor space. That limit means you know the people training next to you, and the coaches know you by name, by your injury history, and by what motivates you.

“I've been a member for two and a half years and my squat has gone from 135 lb to 275 lb. That didn't happen because of the equipment — it happened because Coach Renata flagged my knee cave in week three and we spent six sessions fixing it before it became an injury. That's the Hartwell difference.”
